"Will we have rainbows day after day?"

This we have no knowledge of. And it is somewhat nice not knowing as it gives us hope for pleasant surprises.

But one thing is certain. It is done and dusted for sure. Pantone has presented us with their selection for Colour of the Year 2026.

Pantone is the biggest authority of colour choice in the world. It started dominating the world of design last century when in 1963 Pantone revolutionized the printing industry with the colourful PANTONE MATCHING SYSTEM®, an innovative tool allowing for the faithful selection, articulation and reproduction of consistent, accurate colour anywhere in the world. Over the years, Pantone has become the universal colour language for designers, brands, and manufacturers.

The Pantone Colour of the Year 2026, PANTONE 11-4201 Cloud Dancer, is a key structural colour whose versatility provides scaffolding for the colour spectrum, allowing all colours to shine. In a world where colour has become synonymous with personal expression, this is a shade that can adapt, harmonise, and create contrast, bringing a feeling of airy lightness to all product applications and environments, whether making a standalone statement or combined with other hues.

We asked our house designer Ellyza what she thinks Cloud Dancer will bring for 2026:

"This year, Pantone shifts our focus to neutrals – these liminal colours that are capable of shape-shifting to different moods and styles to tie together almost any colour palette.
